Navman S500-Smart and efficient!

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

Navman S500The Navman S500 is one of the new navigation tools to be launched this year. The device is set to feature at the high end of the price spectrum and combines both an attractive appearance with excellent functionality.

With a weight of 160 g, and a thickness of 13.95 mm, there is no doubt that this is actually one of the more portable units to hit the market. With a thickness only slightly more than an average phone, you can slip the unit into your pocket. The touch screen is nice and bright allowing you to view your maps on it even in dim light. The 480 x 272 pixels resolution is really good as even your photos can be displayed on this screen with high detail. This display measures 4.7 inches diagonally, which is a nice size as it allows you to access all your applications with just a tap on the screen. The Integrated Real-time Traffic information allows you to reach your destination as fast as possible bypassing any traffic blocks on the way.

You can plan your routes according to your specifications. All the routes are displayed on the screen from the most economical, to the fastest, and the safest. The Navman S500 even comes with preloaded safety camera data and a speed detector allowing you to drive safely at all times. The Text to speech convertor allows you to get information about the time, how far you are from your destination and estimated time of arrival without having to look at the screen each time.

The SiRFstarIII with InstantFixII allows you to fix onto the signal easily as soon as you switch on the device. This means that the signal is accurate even if your view of the sky is slightly obstructed. Read all the Navman S500 reviews online for more details.

Navman S50 3D UK-For top class navigation!

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

Navman S50 3D UKThe Navman S50 3D UK is one of the new navigation tools to be launched into the market this year. The navigation system on this device is the same as the predecessor, with a few software improvements. Performance wise, there is really no difference as the Navman S50 3D UK performs as well as the original S50, thought maps on the Navman S50 3D UK are slightly more up to date.

One feature that makes the Navman S50 3D UK better than its predecessor is that the landmarks on this device are displayed in 3D. This means that you have a better view of what’s going on in front of you as the terrain that you are on cannot get clearer.

The Navman S50 3D UK is not very portable as it measure 19.4 mm thick. This is not such a disadvantage as the device is designed to be used as an automotive device rather than a portable personal tool anyway. On the downside, the Navman S50 3D UK does not come with an external antenna socket or even an earphone socket. This is quite a strange omission as the device is large enough to hold 10 of each of these!

The Navman S50 3D UK comes with a rubber mount that you can use to attach the device to the screen. Navman should have worked on this as the mount is pretty fiddly and feels quite unstable even after it has been attached to the dashboard.

Picking up the GPS signal was easy using the SiRFstarIII GPS receiver. The InstantFixII technology allows you to pick up a satellite signal as soon as you switch it on. On the downside, the Points of Interest facility was disappointing. It only covered a few local shops, restaurants and petrol stations. Read all the online Navman S50 3D UK reviews to make sure that this device has all the features that you are looking for.

Navman F200T-Top class navigation!

Friday, September 11th, 2009

Navman F200TThe Navman F200T is one of the new mid range GPS devices to be launched this year. Navman has finally been able to release a device capable of standing competition by other brands such as Garmin. Designed to be used in automobiles, the Navman F200T is quite an interesting device.

The display of the Navman F200T is really good as it is nice and large. Measuring in at 4.7 inches, this screen is considerably larger than screens usually seen in a device of its class. This colored display can be used to view all your media on. The SiRF supporting device is quite easy to handle as this kind of software makes it very user friendly. The USB port on the side of the Navman F200T allows you to transfer any additional software that the device did not come with initially. This software could include any additional programs, maps etc. The microSD memory card slot on the side of the Navman F200T can be used to add any additional programs as well. This can be quite useful as it allows you to carry around additional programs on a separate memory instead of having to store everything in the memory of the Navman F200T itself.

The lithium ion battery I pretty good as it can last for a good couple of hours without having to recharge the batteries. One thing that you have to remember when using the device is that it is not waterproof. So be careful when using it around any moist conditions as this could potentially damage your tool permanently. The internal speakers are quite good though not in the class of the speakers on some other devices. The touch screen is pretty intuitive which pretty much tops off the specs as this makes the device both easy to use and intuitive. This is something that most of the Navman F200T reviews frequently suggest.

Navigate like a pro with the Navman S50

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

navmanSThe Navman S50 delivers both affordability and an attractive design like many of the Navman products. A clear 4.3 inch wide-screen LCD includes an easy to use touchscreen, removing any need for physical buttons. The mount included is very neat as it sticks to your windshield even while crossing over the most rugged terrain and potholes. Included is an in-car charger that connects to the device via ups. There have been many complaints about connecting the S50 up to charge, but many claim the ‘jiggling’ method eventually works out the problem. Using the S50’s Bluetooth hands-free function is hit and miss with it’s unreliable connectivity issues. Various Navman S50 reviews around the internet have stated they ran into problems with their phones not pairing up with the S50.

Performance wise the Navman S50 is on par with many of its competitors in the GPS market. It comes preloaded with the most recent Sensis maps and runs off of the SiRFStar III chipset. Directions are given like you would expect with voice communication directing you the entire time. Also included is a built-in microphone which can be used for giving the device instructions on where you would like to go. When compared to the previous S30, the S50 has a wider screen which is the reason for its less cluttered appearance.

The Navman S50 is up to par with many of its competitors but doesn’t stand out as an extraordinary device. It has many pros such as the appealing yet simple design and the useful windshield mount. If you are looking for a decent GPS device and don’t need a reliable Bluetooth function, than this could be the one for you.
